World Darts Championship favourite Gary Anderson continues his bid for a first world title against determined thrower Colin Lloyd in the last 16 this evening.

Anderson, who is the new 7/2 outright favourite, has yet to reach top form so far in this event, beating Jyhan Artut and Devon Petersen en route to this stage.

His first real test comes in the form of Colin Lloyd tonight, a former world number one who has recaptured his best form on the big stage.

Jaws has fended off quality opposition in Darin Young and Scott Rand to get this far and is likely to push Anderson all the way for a place in the last eight tonight.

Lloyd is known for wearing his heart on his sleeve while up on the oche and could get under his opponent's skin if he can repeat his heavy scoring and high checkouts such as the 167 he produced in the last round.

He is currently the 50/1 rank outsider to win the title, but that could soon change should he upset the Scot tonight.

The bookmakers make Anderson the big favourite to progress, priced at 1/5, with Lloyd offering value at 7/2 with Ladbrokes.

The duo notably met in a Pro Tour final in September, with Anderson winning 6-2 on that occasion.

Their latest encounter gets underway at 9.45pm and will be streamed live over the best of seven sets from the Alexandra Palace, London.
