Tour de France 2012 winner betting - Bradley Wiggins odds-on favourite to win 2012 Tour de France

Bradley Wiggins is comfortable in the yellow jersey and is now just 1/3 to win this year's Tour de France.

Bradley Wiggins is the clear favourite to win this year's Tour de France according to Ladbrokes.

His impressive stage-nine time trial victory on Monday saw his odds collapse in the outright market even further to 1/3, and with a 1min 53 sec lead over Cadel Evans it has left the second favourite to drift out to 4/1. And Should Wiggins claim his first Tour win it's odds-on at 8/15 that he maintains his lead and the winning margin is over 1 min 30 sec.

Team Sky's Chris Froome has been subject to an unprecedented amount of bets in the last 24 hours and he now finds himself in third place with odds of 9/1 (from 14/1) to displace team-mate Wiggins at the top of the leader board.

Punters firmly believe that Wiggins (5/4) is now the man to bring home the gold medal at this summer's Olympic time-trial. And as punters anticipate he'll do the Tour and Olympic double it's 7/4 that he'll win the 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro:

"Wiggins may claim that he's not a machine but the odds suggest otherwise. He's dominating this Tour, and despite now being odds-on punters keep piling into his chances."
