Road Cycling World Championships

Sky Bet have unveiled a range of Road Cycling World Championships betting markets, including odds on British hope Bradley Wiggins claiming his a medal in Mendrisio, Switzerland.

The triple Olympic track gold medallist will focus on Thursday's time trial and is an 11/8 chance with Sky Bet to round off a great year by earning a spot on the podium.

Wiggins has an outside chance of winning the time trial at 14/1 and faces formidable competition from 2006 and 2007 world time trial champion, Fabian Cancellara. The Saxo Bank rider is Sky Bet’s short priced favourite at 1/5 to equal Michael Rogers' record of three victories.

Sky Bet offer 12/1 for Cancellara to win the time trial with Wiggins coming runner-up.

Sky Bet’s cycling betting spokesman Chris Kennedy said: "Wiggins is in buoyant mood ahead of his time-trial ride but his previous efforts of 7th and 10th in this event suggest he'll have to put in a fantastic performance to get amongst the medals tomorrow."
