Cavendish stage favourite in hope of regaining green jersey
After three tough days in the Pyranees and a day of rest, the Tour de France riders will be back for a much flatter stage 10, and a more than likely sprint finish.
Mark Cavendish is the 4-5 favourite with Coral bookmakers to take the stage and an Even money second favourite behind Thor Hushovd to win the green sprinters jersey in Paris. Contador and Armstrong will renew rivalry in the outright battle, and although the Spaniard holds a two second advantage over the American, the money over the weekend was for the Texan, who has been cut to 7-2 (from 5-1)
After Contador opened a two second gap on his team mate on the stage 7 climb his price was cut to 2-7 and put him in a very strong position, but after two more relatively quiet mountain stages, surprisingly the money was for Armstrong, his loyal followers obviously believe there is still something in the tank for the challenge ahead,? said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.
Armstrong is the 7-2 second favourite behind Contador at 2-7
