William Hill are offering odds on what ‘Freddie’ Flintoff will do now that he is retired from cricket

Although his international batting and bowling figures may, surprisingly, not be all that outstanding, it was the timing of his greatest performances and the way he inspired the team around him that gave him the iconic status he deserved.

As a proud Englishman, he saved his best for the Australians. Cricket fans will always remember his Man-of-the-Series performance as England ended their 18-year wait to regain the Ashes in 2005, the way he tore through the Aussie batting line-up in the 2nd Test last year and the vital run out of Ricky Ponting in the final test.

William Hill are offering 8/1 that the England set-up feel that his services will be required in Australia this winter for the upcoming Ashes series and that he is part of the coaching staff.

Of course, he might be in Australia due to other commitments it is 1/3 that he is a member of the Sky Sports commentary team.

Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams told Bettingpro:

"You cannot keep a good man down and we think he could well be enjoying some banter with Beefy & Bumble come the Ashes!" 

If Flintoff doesn't form part of Sky Sports' plans then you could take the 10/1 that he hosts Channel five's Ashes highlights shows, or the 5/1 that he replaces Phil Tufnell or Matt Dawson on A Question of Sport (before the end of 2011).
