The ninth match of the KFC Big Bash T20 competition will be played between Western Australia Warriors and Victorian Bushrangers at WACA in Perth.

Despite having won the competition four times out of five, the Bushrangers (10/11 at SkyBet) are in strife. They have played three and won only once and will need to aim for three in three now. Unfortunately for them, two of their best players in the competition, David Hussey and Cameron White are both away on international duties and it does not look like they will be a part of the Bushrangers.

Interestingly, there is a two day-gap between this fixture against the Western Australian (11/10 at Bet365) side and the 2nd ODI between Australia and England, which means that given the gravity of the situation, the pair would love to play in the game. It will be interesting to see if the board allows them to, in this case. In case they do not play, Brad Hodge will continue to lead the side.

Just like the Bushrangers rely heavily on their captain and vice-captain, Western Australia need their foreign recruit Chris Gayle to blast off early. The day it was announced that the IPL franchises had not considered this hard-hitting batsman for the fourth edition of that tournament, he had bulldozed a 30-ball 61 against the hapless New South Wales side but he has had two failures on either side of that innings.

Fortunately for the Warriors, Shaun Marsh looks in good touch as well and if the two can get going then the side will definitely benefit.

The Western Australia Warriors also have only two points from their three games and the clamour for the results will mean that this game assumes a must-win scenario for both sides. A loss here will all but push that side out of the tournament.
