Wayamba v Victoria Champions League T20 2010 at Centurion preview Visit Ladbrokes Save For Later Posted by Suneer Chowdhary 20 Sep 2010 Tweet Related Articles See all Champions League T20 news Share it Pin It The 16th game of the Champions League T20 will see the Victorian Bushrangers take on the Wayamba Elevens at Centurion. Victoria have two wins in three games, whereas Wayamba have lost both the games they have played in. This is a vital fixture for the Victorian (4/11 at Boylesports) side, given that a loss here could push them out of the tournament. Even a win may not secure their position in the semi-finals, but will give them a good chance of making it. Wayamba (11/4 at Coral) need to not only win this one but also the next one before hoping some other results go their way and the net run-rate favours them. The points table is such that if Victoria win this encounter they will have six points from their four games. Chennai (4/1 at Blue Square to top Group A) have four from three, and play the Warriors in the last game, who have three wins from three games. Then, if the Warriors (7/2 at 888Sport to top Group A) beat the Super Kings, both, the Warriors and Victoria will go through to the last four. however, if Chennai win that last game, it will boil down to the net run-rates. As things currently stand, Warriors have a net run-rate of 0.98 while the Super Kings are currently at 2.57. unfortunately for the Bushrangers, they are currently at minus 0.4, which means that if even if they win by, say a couple of overs to spare and Chennai win their game against Warriors, Victoria (13/2 at 888Sport to top Group A) could crash out of the tournament. Wayamba’s chances of entering the semi-final are miniscule enough not to be spoken about too much. However, as their captain Jehan Mubarak had said that they will look for a much improved performance, as that is the least their countrymen deserved, the audience will be looking for a tough game. To do that, they will have to bowl much better than they have done so far, with the pair of Ajantha Mendis (4/1 at Stan James to be the most economical bowler) and Isuru Udana (4/1 at Stan James to be the most economical bowler) expected to do the job.
