The match will be played at the St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth. Warriors (6/5 at SportingBet) had won their first match of the tournament by beating Wayamba, but this will be a different proposition. Victoria (8/11 at Blue Square) is one of the best cricket club sides in the world in this format of the game. Despite the obvious and a big loss of Cameron White as the captain of the side, the Victorian side will be favourites to come out on top in this match. David Hussey (4/1 at BetFred to top-score for his side) leads the side, and his all-round abilities will allow the team to go in with an extra batsman down the order. Brad Hodge should continue opening the innings for the Victorians, while Rob Quiney (9/2 at BetFred) will partner him. In the middle-order, there is Andrew McDonald, who can take on the bowling with his powerful hitting ability, while Aaron Finch’s (4/1 at Blue Square) domestic record speaks a lot about him. It is a difficult call to decide who will come out top from amongst the Victorian batsmen, but amongst the aforementioned, Hodge (3/1 at Boylesports) does enjoy conditions where the ball comes onto the bat. This could, therefore, be a perfect setting for him to top-score for his side. The Warriors had seen Mark Boucher (6/1 at Stan James) top-scoring for them in the previous game against Wayamba. The reason the other top-four could not get as many was because they all got starts but gave up their wickets after that – a mistake they can ill-afford to repeat against a strong team like Victoria. One of Ashwell Prince (7/2 at Boylesports) and Colin Ingram (4/1 at 888Sport) need to go on to get a big score for the side, instead of throwing the wicket away for 20s and 30s. A total of 160-170 will be par for the course on this track.
