The Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars will look to add to their one win each at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. This is the ninth game of this season’s Big Bash League and will be played on Tuesday, December 27.
Both teams, the Sixers and the Stars have played a couple of games and have a win apiece. Sydney started off in the tournament with a victory over the Brisbane Heat but crashed to a 42-run defeat at the hands of the Hobart Hurricanes.
The Stars (4/6 at
Boylesports) were pummelled by the Sydney Thunder captain Dave Warner in their opener but came back strongly against the Brisbane Heat. They won the game by eight runs after Rob Quiney scored a near century and Shane Warne ended with figures of 1/22 in four overs.
The Sixers (5/4 at
SportingBet) squad will continue to remain without Brad Haddin and Ed Cowan, both of whom are playing in the first Boxing Day Test match against India. Patrick Cummins continues to remain injured while Shane Watson could miss out yet again which means that Steven Smith (5/1 at
Boylesports) will lead the side for the second game in a row.
Likes of Michael Lumb (10/3 at
bet365) at the top and Moises Henriques in the middle-order need to get going for them to have a chance in the game.
The Stars will hope for some better batting from their captain Cameron White (7/1 at
