The second semi-final of the Champions League T20 will be played between South Australian Redbacks and the Warriors at Centurion. The winner of this game will play the winner of the Bangalore-Chennai semi-finals that will be played on Friday.

The South Australian (5/6 at SkyBet) side will go into the game as favourites given their all-win record in the tournament so far. They have beaten Mumbai, Bangalore, Lions and Guyana, and while the experts may call the Warriors a better rounded side, all of South Australia’s wins have been convincing. The Warriors (11/10 at Blue Square) had also gone into the last game with three wins in three matches, and looked good to make it four in four before the Chennai spinners throttled them away.

South Australia’s batting has revolved around captain Michael Klinger (10/3 at Boylesports), but Callum Ferguson (4/1 at Blue Square) has chipped in with his scores as well. One must remember that Ferguson has only just returned back from his knee injury and yet, his performance has been excellent. What the South Australians will need is for one of the almost untried middle-order batsmen, Tom Cooper (12/1 at Blue Square) or Cameron Borgas (10/1 at BetFred) to prop up the innings towards the end.

From amongst the top-order, Daniel Harris (7/2 at Boylesports) could be one to look out for, given that much focus would be on his opening partner and captain Klinger.

Ashwell Prince (7/2 at Blue Square) has had only one innings worth talking about in the series and he has generally slowed down the innings when he has not got going. The Warriors may not want to change anything around, but getting in Colin Ingram (9/2 at Blue Square) at the top with Davey Jacobs (5/1 at Boylesports) is certainly something they can have a look at. Ingram’s selection to the South African squad may have been a shot in arm, as would have been his top-scores in both the 20 overs and 40 overs domestic competition. But a big one is still expected from him in this series.

Mark Boucher (13/2 at Coral) is another batsman who has much to prove in the series after being unceremoniously dumped out of the South African squad. What better occasion than a semi-final of the CLT20 against the really tough, South Australian side.

Tips:
Favourites: Warriors (11/10 at Blue Square)
Top Warriors batsman: Colin Ingram (9/2 at Blue Square)
Top South Australia batsman: Daniel Harris (7/2 at Boylesports)
