Shoaib Malik claims he was cheated into marrying Ayesha Visit Ladbrokes Save For Later Posted by Suneer Chowdhary 5 Apr 2010 Tweet Related Articles See all Twenty20 World Cup news Share it Pin It Former Pakistan skipper, Shoaib Malik has added a new twist to the ongoing feud between him and Ayesha Siddiqui – his supposed wife – that he was cheated into marrying Ayesha over the telephone. In Hyderabad for his marriage to Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza, Shoaib Malik said that he was shown photographs of some other girl, but the girl that he was married to was actually who was earlier called, Maha Apa, or the sister of Ayesha! Malik also released a press statement, which clarifies that he had never met the girl whose pictures had been sent to him and was pressurised into marrying the girl. He also added in his press release that it was by pure accident that he came to know about the fact that Ayesha had cheated him into marrying her. This happened when his brother-in-law showed him some pictures of a lady who had gone about proclaiming that Malik was his husband. The pictures did not match the ones that Malik had earlier seen. As things currently stand, Malik has said that his marriage with Sania Mirza will take place as scheduled on the 15th of April in Hyderabad. Ayesha has also accused Malik of being a liar and changing statements daily, while her family has lodged a police complaint against the Pakistani cricketer. Malik was earlier banned from playing for Pakistan for a period of one year for his alleged role in undermining the captain. Pakistan will go into the ICC World T20 under a new captain, Shahid Afridi, but are 8/1 (Blue Square) to win the tournament that they had clinched last year. Coral offers 4/1 for Australia to win the ICC World T20, whereas South Africa go into the tournament at 9/2 (Blue Square) Pakistan are also 7/4 (Sporting Bet) to top their group in the first round, which consists of Australia and Bangladesh as the two other sides. Australia has never progressed beyond the semi-final of the tournament, whereas Pakistan has been the finalist in both the editions.
