The 35th game of the Indian Premier League will be played between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Pune Warriors India. Bangalore will host this game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and it will be a night game.

Bangalore v Pune odds:
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (4/6 at BetFred) will have much confidence going into the game. They have won two games in a row after a three-match losing streak and this has coincided the selection of Chris Gayle in place of the injured Dirk Nannes. Another win here and Bangalore will be within touching distance of the top spot in the points table.

The Pune (13/10 at Blue Square) story is something else. They seemed to have taken everyone by surprise by winning the first two games that they played in but have followed it up with four losses. Another loss and they will be struggling to make it to the playoffs at the end of the league stage.

Ground and Pitch:
The last game that was scheduled to be played here was abandoned due to rain. The ones before that were batting-friendly and unlike the previous seasons, did not offer too much bounce.

Player News:
The Pune Warriors have been let down by their top-order. In three successive games now, they have lost early wickets; losing four wickets for 17, 40 and 41 respectively in the three games. Manish Pandey, who was serving a four-game ban, has not been able to convert his immense talent into anything worthwhile whereas the experiment to open with Mohnish Mishra hasn’t worked.

What the Warriors probably need is for Jesse Ryder to be able to survive the first six overs and carry his hitting capabilities into the second half of the innings. With Yuvraj Singh having regained some of his form down the order, Ryder’s start could help the captain tee off towards the end of the innings without fear.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore, bolstered by the return to team of Chris Gayle and return amongst runs of Virat Kohli will look to continue with their match-winning momentum. The three that they had lost in a row had traces of bad bowling associated but with the kind of batting prowess that the side has, it should not matter much.

Tillakaratne Dilshan continues to flounder with the bat but the Royal Challengers Bangalore may accord him another chance. Players like Dilshan need only an innings to regain their scoring touch and when they do, it could be mayhem in the opposition.

Prediction:
On current form, Bangalore should win this but if Yuvraj can promote himself up the order and play a captain’s knock, things could get interesting.
