Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kochi Tuskers Kerala IPL Game 50 at Bangalore Preview and Tips

In the 50th game of the Indian Premier League, the Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Bangalore will be the hosts, with the game to be played at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.

Bangalore v Kochi odds:
The last time the two sides had played each other, it was AB de Villiers who had stolen the march on the Tuskers with a timely cameo. Since then, both, Bangalore and Kochi have won four apiece, which puts Bangalore at 11 points from nine games while the Tuskers have eight from those many.

Bangalore (4/7 at Boylesports) have a powerful batting side but more importantly, they are in good touch. The Tuskers (13/8 at bet365) have had a couple of up and down games, and while their bowling has begun to get on well, their batting needs to rev it up in the first half of the innings.

Ground and Pitch:
The track at Bangalore was green in the previous match which afforded some seam movement early on but once Chris Gayle began to attack the pace bowlers, it turned into a flat-batting paradise.

Player News:
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have given a tremendous boost by the arrival of Gayle (9/4 at Boylesports). Those who managed to catch his batting yesterday, would have been privileged to see one of the most powerful innings of all times in IPL. There were nine sixes and ten fours in his century and by the time he was finished, he had scored almost 70% of the team’s score. Kochi will need to devise plans to stop Gayle’s rampaging form, after he has already scored a couple of centuries in the tournament so far.

One would have thought that for a player to be in such form, it would make the side totally dependent on him and a failure could affect the side drastically. In this case, Virat Kohli (4/1 at BetFred) comes into the game with a couple of man of the match awards to his name and de Villiers (9/2 at Paddy Power) has been in equally good form.

The Tuskers would be relieved to see Mahela Jayawardene (7/2 at Paddy Power) get to his half-century in the previous game, while Brad Hodge’s (7/1 at bet365) man of the match-winning innings will mean that he will continue to bat lower down the order. Brendon McCullum (10/3 at Paddy Power) would be itching to get a big one on the ground where he holds his and IPL’s highest individual score of 158.

Prediction:
Bangalore has a four-match winning streak going for them and playing at home, they will be favourites to win this one.
