The fourth match of the KFC Big Bash T20 will see Queensland Bulls host Tasmania Tigers at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Queensland go into the game after losing their first game to defending champions Victoria, while the Tigers overcame Western Australia in their opening encounter.

Going by their previous record, neither team has done particularly well in the tournament. Tasmania’s best performance has been one finals’ berth while Queensland have never even entered the final of the tournament in the five attempts so far. This puts the Tigers as favourites to win the game with an offer of 4/6 (Stan James) while bet365 offers 11/8 for a Queensland victory.

Despite losing the first game, the good news from Queensland perspective is that they fought hard against Victoria. The target of 189 was always going to be difficult against a side that has international stars in their bowling attack and yet Lee Carseldine (9/2 at bet365), James Hopes (9/2 at bet365) and Chris Lynn (6/1 at Boylesports) got into the 30s.

What the Bulls would also like is to have their international picking, Michael Lumb (3/1 at Boylesports) to repeat some of the magic that he has displayed in the past for England in this format of the game.

Tasmania have a surprise choice as their foreign pick in Dutch all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate (8/1 at Boylesports). However, it will need their top three, wicket-keeper and one of the possible future Australian captains, Tim Paine (10/3 at Boylesports) and the portly Mark Cosgrove (7/2 at bet365) to provide them with a good start.

Tasmania had surprised Western Australia at WACA in Perth by opening their attack with a spinner in Jason Krejza and then had left-arm slow bowler Xavier Doherty bowl within the Powerplay overs as well. At Brisbane, they will probably need to rely more on pace than spin to notch up their second win before moving to Hobart to play their first home game.
