Vaughan has scored only 159 first-class runs at an average of 19.88 in six matches this summer, with a top score of 43 against Worcestershire last week. The first Ashes Test takes place at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, on 8 July. England national selector Geoff Miller is also set to announce the line-up for the Lions side to face Australia in a four-day match starting on 1 July, the same day as the Warwickshire fixture.
