Michael Vaughan has been left out of England's 16-man squad for an Ashes training camp.

The omission of the ex England captain from the line-up, who will face Warwickshire in a three-day warm-up game, indicates he will not be picked to face Australia in the upcoming Ashes series.

Vaughan has scored only 159 first-class runs at an average of 19.88 in six matches this summer, with a top score of 43 against Worcestershire last week.

The first Ashes Test takes place at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, on 8 July.

England national selector Geoff Miller is also set to announce the line-up for the Lions side to face Australia in a four-day match starting on 1 July, the same day as the Warwickshire fixture.
