A Historical View:
Earlier in the tournament, the Rajasthan Royals were in the top four and Punjab were struggling to notch up the wins. The roles are reversed now and Rajasthan have gone winless in four successive games while Punjab are fourth on the table.

Odds:
Not much to choose from between the two sides, with Coral offering 10/11 for a Punjab win and Rajasthan at 11/10 (Ladbrokes) to make it their first win in five games. A lot could depend on the toss, with the second chasing the target at Mohali at a distinct advantage – all four games played here have been won by the side batting second. 

Probable selection:
Punjab could continue to fret over the fitness of Adam Gilchrist, but at least that means they do not have to worry too much about team combinations. David Hussey will continue to lead and Shaun Marsh should get another go in the top-order, while Azhar Mahmood will occupy the third overseas slot in the team.

Ryan Harris would have been in a shoo-in for the fourth foreign player’s position but it seems that he has some fitness concerns. That being the case, David Miller could retain his spot in the side or one of James Faulkner and Nathan Rimmington might get a go. 

Mandeep Singh and Nitin Saini have been impressive at the top of the innings and will look to continue getting those runs. 

Rajasthan will be kicking themselves after getting themselves yet another amazing start, only to fritter it away against Delhi in their last game. Shane Watson’s presence at the number three spot should helped the side, although it is the batting lower down the order that is a concern. 

Owais Shah and Brad Hodge have lost their form and will do well to get something under their belt to stabilise the innings. 

The other issue facing Rajasthan is their weak bowling attack. While likes of Amit Singh and Siddharth Trivedi have been expensive, it is only Brad Hogg who has picked up wickets in the tournament. And in recent times, Hogg has been easily picked by the opposition.

The side will hope that Watson’s presence will add to the wickets’ column.
