The Indian squad for the ICC World T20 this year has been announced. Despite the injury which kept MS Dhoni out of three games in the tournament, he continues to lead the side, while Rohit Sharma and Piyush Chawla make a comeback into the side.

Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir will continue to open the batting, with Dinesh Karthik providing back-up to both, the openers and the wicket-keeper. Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina will form the middle-order, whereas hard-hitting batsman from Rajasthan Royals, Yusuf Pathan and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are also in the side. Jadeja had been banned by the IPL governing council in the IPL for trying to break his contract.

Zaheer Khan will lead the fast bowling attack for India, with the options of Ashish Nehra, Vinay Kumar and Praveen Kumar available to the captain. Vinay Kumar and Praveen Kumar have been playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and have performed admirably well. Nehra, on the other hand, has been injured and is yet to feature in a game.
