Armed with a 2-0 lead in the series, a victory in this game will win India the series. India scraped through to a narrow, one-wicket win in the first ODI but completed an easy win in the second match.

While the Indian batsmen struggled in the opener, it was a much improved showing from their middle-order in the second game. Rohit Sharma (6/1 at bet365) is in the form of his life and Virat Kohli (4/1 at SportingBet) slammed a superb century to lead India to a 2-0 lead.

West Indies have had India on the mat on a couple of occasions this tour. They had a potentially match-winning lead in the Delhi Test before they went down. Then again at the Wankhede stadium, they took the lead and could have won the game but the home team were rescued by their lower-order.

In the first ODI, West Indies seemed to have done enough to get India to 59/5 before they recovered to clinch the game.

Captain Darren Sammy has the right, therefore, to feel frustrated. Five games into the tour and despite the three opportunities, the West Indies have won nothing. He will hope for a change in fortune at Ahmedabad.

India have their own issues. The top three have not been in the best of forms. At least Virender Sehwag has got his starts which he has not been able to convert into any jaw-dropping scores but the bigger worries will be Gautam Gambhir (4/1 at Boylesports) and Parthiv Patel. Neither has scored any runs and chances are that they will swap their batting places. In fact, Patel could be pushed down to the number six or seven slot in this match.

The Indian bowling has done well so far. The quicker bowlers have made the West Indian batsmen hop around even as West Indies continue to struggle against spin. The ray of light for West Indies comes from their handling of R Ashwin, who conceded 74 runs in his 10 overs. Will he bounce back or can West Indies continue to keep his variations at bay?

India go into the game as favourites to seal the series (4/11 at Blue Square), with West Indies at 5/2 (SportingBet) to make notch up their first win on tour.

The India v West Indies 3rd ODI begins at 2.30 pm local time (9.00 am GMT) on December 5.
