The pair added 132 for the fifth wicket in only 26 overs to propel West Indies towards overtaking the Indian lead of 478 on the fourth day.However, the dismissal of Bravo (136) proved to be the turning point as the rest of the side collapsed from 401/4 to 463 all out, handing the match back to India on a platter.Overnight, West Indies were 195/3 after being made to follow-on on the third day and carried on to 269 before Shivnarine Chanderpaul was bowled off an inside-edge. If India thought they had got the break-through they needed to run through the rest of the West Indian side which had been bowled out for 153 in the first innings, they were mistaken.The slowing pitch allowed Bravo and Samuels to adjust their strokes and their century partnership revived memories of the 2001 Test match between India and Australia at the same ground. India had won that one following on and with only 77 runs needed to make the hosts bat again, and with two set batsmen at the crease, chances of a repeat looked more probable than impossible. Unfortunately, Bravo was caught in the slips off Pragyan Ojha (2/104), and soon after, Carlton Baugh (3) and Samuels (84) fell to the Indians to leave only one winner. Umesh Yadav, who had earlier got Chanderpaul, polished off the West Indian innings by picking up a couple of wickets off successive balls. With this win, India have won the series and there is one more game to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from November 22. India will be gunning for a 3-0 series whitewash going into the tour of Australia in December.
