He will be replaced by Abhimanyu Mithun, the medium-pacer from Karnataka. The bowler from Uttar Pradesh was also ruled out of the World Cup earlier this year due to a tennis elbow injury and later suffered from an ankle problem on India’s tour of England in July. He was easily the most effective of the Indian bowlers in England after Zaheer Khan had limped off on the first day of the tour with a hamstring strain.Praveen Kumar is one of the five pace bowlers named in the Indian squad to play Australia in the four-Test match series. If Praveen does not recover in time for the tour of Australia, it could be a big blow to the chances of the Indian side to win their first series down under.
