England are 6/1 to defend their World Twenty20 crown in Sri Lanka, according to Ladbrokes.

And Paul Collingwood’s side, who beat Australia to end their final hoodoo yesterday (Sun), are 2/1 to win the BBC’s Team of the Year prize.- The Three Lions were available at 9/1 pre-tournament.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “Patriotic punters have hit us for six. England have consistently failed to deliver on the big stage put supporters have never lost the faith .”

Final hero Kevin Pietersen has been slashed to 33/1, from 66/1, for the Sports Personality accolade following his fine innings.
