The Delhi Daredevils take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 30th game of the Indian Premier League 2011. The game will be a home game for the Daredevils and will be hosted by the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

Delhi v Bangalore odds:
The Daredevils and Bangalore go into the game with a win each under their belt in the last game they played. To thicken the plot further, both sides have not had the best of times in the tournament so far, having lost three games – with Bangalore at five points and Delhi on four. Bangalore have a better balanced side and will go in as favourites, 4/5 at Stan James compared to Delhi, whose bowling looks one-dimensional and BetFred offers 11/10 for their win.

Ground and Pitch:
The Kotla has been a slow, low and an uneven track so far but what one saw of it in the previous game was surprising. On a pitch that had grass on it, the batsmen enjoyed the ball coming on to the bat and there were a total of 430 runs scored in the 40 overs. They may want to continue using the same pitch.

Player News:
The Delhi Daredevils managed to post the highest score of the tournament this season and the third-highest ever in the Indian Premier League in the previous game. This was thanks to the batting of Virender Sehwag (11/4 at BetFred) and Dave Warner (11/4 at Blue Square), both of whom got quick-fire 77s to their name. Where the Daredevils have usually done well in the previous games is their middle-order, with Venugopal Rao (10/1 at BetFred) having grabbed his chances with both hands.

The sense that one gets is that if the side can get off to a good start, it could do well for them to send Rao up the order. Yogesh Nagar (8/1 at bet365) was a surprise number three in the previous game but the experiment did not work.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore added a new member to their playing eleven last game. Chris Gayle (11/4 at Blue Square) joined the playing eleven and opened the innings with Tillakaratne Dilshan (7/2 at BetFred). There was some explosive hitting at the top of the innings in Gayle’s inimitable style, thwacking the ball like how the batsmen from Caribbean do.

Gayle’s inclusion to the side adds the batting power that it lacked earlier and now, Virat Kohli (9/2 at 888Sport) and AB de Villiers (7/2 at Boylesports) could be made to look even more potent in the middle-order. Where the side seems to be missing out is their bowling – Zaheer Khan is out of sorts while the rest of the inexperienced bowlers except Daniel Vettori have yet to step up to the plate.

Prediction
Despite possessing a better balance, the Royal Challengers may struggle to bowl well on the Delhi pitch. It is advantage Delhi.
