The Mumbai Indians will travel to Hyderabad to face the Deccan Chargers in the 27th game of the Indian Premier League. The game will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium at Hyderabad.

Mumbai v Deccan odds:
The Mumbai Indians (4/7 at Stan James) are on a roll, having won four of the five games that they have played. What would have chuffed them further was the way they defended the score of 164 against the defending champions Chennai despite the dewy conditions.

Deccan Chargers (13/8 at Boylesports) have not had the best of times and are at the third from bottom position with only four points. They did win their previous game but that was almost five days ago and in a format where momentum is something most teams look forward to, it is a long time since they played a game.

Ground and Pitch:
The pitch will assist the seam bowlers and make stroke-play easy for those who like the ball coming on to the bat.

Player News:
Sachin Tendulkar (2/1 at Blue Square) failed for the first time in the previous game and the manner in which Rohit Sharma (9/2 at bet365) came to the party was a sign of a champion side. Rohit’s 87 came off only 48 deliveries and the icing on the cake was the fact that it was a knock that was as Laxmanesque in grace as the format can allow.

Interestingly, it was Andrew Symonds’ (8/1 at Paddy Power) second sojourn at the crease and he added another not-out to his name; a vital 26-ball 31. Now, all that remains is for Kieron Pollard (9/1 at Paddy Power) to have a bat in the tournament; he has yet to face a ball but has done a lot through his fielding alone.

The Chargers need to get their bowling sorted. Their batting was beginning to get its act together before the long break ensued. Kumar Sangakkara (3/1 at Boylesports) remains the key but the way Bharat Chipli (15/2 at BetFred) has batted, there isn’t any doubt that the bowling will look to ensure that he is contained at the top of the order. On the other hand, the Chargers will look to send him up the order and get him to play as many deliveries as possible.

The Chargers will also reasonably satisfied with the way Cameron White (5/1 at Boylesports) batted in the previous game against Delhi. His stable batting in the middle-order will give the side some respite after JP Duminy (9/2 at Boylesports) had struggled to provide it in the previous games.

Prediction
Mumbai Indians will be hard to beat as Rohit Sharma will look to get to a big one against his former team.
