The Super Kings will need to win this game to qualify for the semi-finals, whereas a narrow loss for the Warriors should be enough to go through to the next round. On the other hand, if the Super Kings get knocked out in the game, they will be out of the CLT20 as well, and Victoria and Warriors will go through to the next round. The Super Kings (4/7 at Blue Square to win this game) have yet to lose a game in the normal course of the match, after having won two and tied their third game (which they then lost in the Super Over). Their all-round balance is good, but they clearly need their captain to come to the party, both, with the bat and on the field. Warriors (13/8 at William Hills) know that they are almost through to the semi-finals, but will not want to give up on their momentum and go all out for a win. The Chennai batting will revolve around their top three, but the selectors had sprung in a surprise by dropping Matthew Hayden (4/1 at Sky Bet) and getting in Michael Hussey (4/1 at bet365) in the previous encounter. What remains to be seen is if they bring back Hayden for this crucial knock-out-like game. Suresh Raina (7/2 at Blue Square) will like to get going again in this game, after his last three innings have all been up and down. There are two other concerns for the Super Kings. MS Dhoni’s (11/2 at Sky Bet) illness has meant that he is yet to have a real go with the bat in the tournament, while Albie Morkel (12/1 at 888Sport) had missed the previous game due to injury. The Warriors will also need at least one of their top three to go on and get a big score. Davey Jacobs (5/1 at 888Sport) has been in good form, and what would have pleased the side more would have been the return to runs for Ashwell Prince (7/2 at Sky Bet). With Colin Ingram (9/2 at Blue Square) getting an international call-up, his morale would be sky-high and he will be one of the batsmen to watch out for. Chennai could be marginal favourites for this one, but the home advantage could work in Warriors’ favour to nullify the Chennai’s advantage.
