Brett Lee makes comeback to Australia squad for ICC World T20 Visit Ladbrokes Save For Later Posted by Suneer Chowdhary 30 Mar 2010 Tweet Related Articles See all Twenty20 World Cup news Share it Pin It The Australian team for the ICC World T20 in the West Indies has been announced. The 15-member side consists of a couple of surprises, whereas some players return to the side after lay-offs thanks to their injuries. Brett Lee, for one, has been recalled after he was back from Australia and playing the IPL. He had not played a single international since the tour of India in October due to an elbow injury. The selectors have also continued with the all-rounder Daniel Christian, apart from the surprise call-up of Michael Hussey. Hussey hasn’t played in much T20 cricket in the last one year or so, and so his selection will come as a bolt from the blue. Tim Paine has been chosen as the second wicket-keeper for the side, while Steve Smith will be the back-up spinner to Nathan Hauritz. Michael Clarke continues to lead the side and Cameron White will be his deputy. Ricky Ponting has retired from the T20 format of the game. Australia are placed in the same group as Pakistan and Bangladesh in the first round of the tournament. They go into the tournament as favourites (4/1 at Coral), while South Africa are at the number two position; 9/2 at Blue Square. The Aussies are also favourite to win their group, with Sporting Bet offering 4/6 for it. Pakistan go in as second favourites to top the group, at 7/4 (Sporting Bet), whereas the chances of Bangladesh doing it are much lower; 7/1 at Sporting Bet.
