The last time Australia were in South Africa, they had beaten the hosts 2-1 in the Tests but lost 2-3 in the ODIs.This had of course followed a South African tour of Australia, in which the visitors had won both, the Tests and the ODIs – 2-1 in the five-day format and 4-1 in the ODIs. South Africa have not played a single international since their World Cup campaign was rudely ended by New Zealand in the quarter-finals.
