Australia's tour of India: Hussey wanted to leave CLT20 earlier

Australian middle-order batsman Michael Hussey has revealed that he wanted to drop out of the Champions League T20 earlier to join the Australian side in order to prepare for the Test series against India. However, he added that the Cricket Australia did not allow that to happen and so he had had no option but to “grin and bear it.”

India beat Australia in the first Test match at Mohali by one wicket and that means that the best result possible for the Australian side is a drawn series. For that to happen, Australia will need to beat India in the second Test match that will be played at Bangalore from October 9.

Hussey was a part of the Chennai Super Kings in the Champions League T20 and helped the side get to the final of the tournament with a half-century to his name.

However, Hussey reached for the first Test match only two days before the start of the game and that seemed to have affected his preparations. Hussey scored only 45 runs in the two innings of the game.

Despite being down 0-1 in the series, the Aussies are favourite to win the second Test match, but only marginally at that. William Hill offers 11/4 for their win as compared to BetFred’s 3/1 for an Indian win. Blue Square offers 10/11 for a drawn game.
