As confusion surrounds the targets of some of the 2012 Cheltenham Festival's leading contenders William Hill have today opened a ‘to win at the Cheltenham Festival’ market.

An ever-expanding number of races at the Festival nowadays sees trainers give many of their leading lights multiple entries for the four-day meeting in March. So this innovation removes any doubt, with punters only needing to back a horse to win during the National Hunt highlight.

Grand Crus – one of the stars of the season so far is a 5-2 chance to win at the Festival, where his main options include the RSA Chase, and the Gold Cup. Philip Hobbs’s unbeaten Fingal Bay is available at 4-1 to win a Festival race, and currently heads the betting at 5-1 in both the both the Neptune Hurdle, and the longer Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle.

Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill, said: ‘Many of us have been experienced the frustration of holding an ante-post slip and watching while your fancy romps home in an alternative race! A market of this nature eliminates this possibility, and we’ll be adding new runners as the Cheltenham narrative continues to unfold.’’

The market is available across all William Hill channels, with each-way terms of 1/4 the odds 1,2,3.

To win at the Cheltenham Festival: 5-2 Grands Crus, 4-1 Fingal Bay, Voler La Vedette, 5-1 Oscar Whisky, 11-2 Peddlers Cross, 6-1 Noble Prince, 8-1 Bog Warrior, Make Your Mark, Rubi Light, Silviniaco Conti, Simonsig, 9-1 Boston Bob, 10-1 Captain Chris, Thousand Stars, 12-1 Cue Card (EW 1/4 1,2,3)
