Stan James has installed the 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman at 14-1 to win both the blue riband event and the Grand National in 2009.
After his impressive victory at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day Calgary Bay has continued to be backed and is now 10-1 (from 12) for the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival despite his trainer Henrietta Knight’s uncertainty as to which route the six-year-old may take.
There has also been support for Cooldine who is now 12-1 (from 14) for the RSA Chase and Walkon 8-1 (from 9) in the Triumph Hurdle.
Away from National Hunt racing former Flat Champion jockey Jamie Spencer has been backed to become all-weather champion and is now 11-4 (from 9-2).
