Willie Mullins’ horse bidding for her third straight victory in this race and odds-against quotes still available

This is the sixth race on Day One of the Cheltenham Festival and there will be some rather large bets being struck on race favourite Quevega to win, especially if punters have had some joy on the Champion Hurdle.

Quevega has won this race in the past two years and there is little reason to suggest she won’t hack up again, especially with Ruby Walsh on board.

Willie Mullins preserves the horse in cotton wool for much of the year and Sporting Bet’s 5/4 quote might not last too much longer, with Ladbrokes having gone 4/5 about the mare.

Even so, this is not a one horse race and Sparky May is the horse that might challenge the favourite.

Available at odds of 6/1 with Paddy Power, she has won all four of her races this season, including a January victory over Carole’s Legacy.

Carole’s Legacy is available at 18/1 with Sporting Bet, while Our Girl Salley has won her last five races and can be backed at 12/1 with Stan James.
