Synchronised won the 2012 Cheltenham Gold Cup and it is now 6/1 that Jonjo O'Neill's charge retains his title next year.

Tony McCoy rode Synchronised to a stunning 2012 Gold Cup, in which Kauto Star was pulled up, and Bet Victor have immediately made the champion 6/1 to retain his title next season.

Long Run, who finished a disappointing third place in the Gold Cup is out to 12/1 to become only the second horse to win back the Gold Cup crown although the up and coming horses such as Sir Des Champs and Bobs Worth are now far shorter prices with both Cheltenham winners vying for favouritism with Synchronised.

Spokesperson Charlie McCann told Bettingpro:

"The final day has been a much better day for the layers but with Kauto Star pulled up early in the race there is a certain degree of anticlimax about the Gold Cup although nothing should be taken away from the winner; there is every chance that is wasn't a vintage renewal but backers of the winner won't care."
