Leading bookmaker Coral described day two of the Cheltenham Festival as "one of the best days" they can "remember having at the Cheltenham Festival"

Sanctuaire was the only winning favourite but the high profile defeats of Master Minded in the Champion Chase, Punchestowns & Long Run in the RSA Chase, Rite of Passage in the Neptune Hurdle and Quantitativeeasing in the Coral Cup all gave the bookmakers a fantastic pay day.

"There is no point denying it, Day two was one of the best days we can remember having at the Cheltenham Festival for many a year", said Simon Clare, Coral's Trading Director.

"The defeat of Master Minded, following that of Dunguib yesterday, has given the bookies a major lead in their annual Cheltenham battle with punters. However it would be foolish to crow, as there are still two days to go and several well fancied favourites to contend with", added Clare.
