Noland has been cut into 3/1 (from 10/3) by Blue Square for the Irish Independent Arkle Chase after a hard-fought success at Sandown on Friday afternoon. 

Paul Nicholls’ charge looked to be struggling for a brief moment as Psychomodo cruised alongside two from home but a crashing fall from that horse only left Noland with My Petra to beat which he did in workmanlike fashion, running on to win by a length and a half.

‘This wasn’t the Arkle prep that Paul Nicholls would have been hoping for but Noland did win – albeit in not in the manner we had been expecting,’ said Blue Square spokesman George Primarolo.

‘However, this was only the horse’s second run over fences and looks certain to have more improvement in him. He did impress with his jumping though and that should give him an edge at Cheltenham.’

My Petra was cut to 33/1 (from 66/1) after finishing second, whilst at Warwick, Sir Harry Ormesher was cut to 33s (from 50s) for the Ballymore Properties Novice Hurdle after running out the easy winner of the EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle.
