Kauto Stone was the only danger turning for home after early pace-setting Wishfull Thinking had folded tamely and a good leap at the final fence sealed victory for Henry de Bromhead’s gelding.

"Sizing Europe seems to be finishing his races better than ever as he gets older which can only spell disaster for his Champion Chase rivals come March," Betfred spokesman George Primarolo explained to Bettingpro.

Betfred have also cut the winner to 12/1 (from 25/1) for the Coral Welsh National. Runner-up Niche Market is a 33/1 shot for the big race in April.
