"Two and a half is probably his best trip but they said you need a 2½-miler for the Arkle and so it proved today. He was off the bridle from a long way out."Captain Chris, who was ridden by Richard Johnson, didn't travel particularly well but his strength and stamina saw off Finian's Rainbow, who finished second, and the disappointing Medermit, who could only finish fourth under Robert Thornton, with Realt Dubh coming third.
