Binocular was always travelling strongly and put in an excellent round of jumping, going on to score by three and three quarter lengths from the front-running Overturn, with Starluck two and a quarter lengths further back in third. Binocular now trades at 4.0 to defend his Champion Hurdle crown at the Cheltenham Festival, with last year's runner-up Khyber Kim, who could manage only fourth on his seasonal reappearance, out to 27.0.
