The key to playing successfully (where success is defined as “having fun” and “making money”) is to manage your money.

Proper money management keeps your money in your account even when you are losing. There is no point to score big if you are not going to manage your money when you are losing, and wind up in the negative.

The goal is to keep yourself from over-spending. Separate bank accounts are good (one for regular life and one for entertainment), as is a spending policy you create for yourself.

For example, make rules that you will cash out any wins at the end of the day, leaving only your “seed money” in the account. If you lose your seed money, you can deposit more from your entertainment bank account (or eWallet, etc) up to a daily limit. This way you keep tabs on how much you are risking and stop when you hit your appropriate limit.
