Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather postpones comeback fight

Floyd Mayweather's comeback fight against Juan Manuel Marquez has been postponed after the unbeaten American picked up a rib injury in training ahead of the fight.

Mayweather has not fought since defeating Ricky Hatton in 2007, but was set to get back into the ring against the up and coming Marquez.

The fight was scheduled for July 18 with the Mayweather fighting Marquez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in his hometown of Las Vegas.

However, the contest is now off after Mayweather suffered a rib injury during a training session.

Marquez, voiced his dissapointment at the fight's postponement from his training camp in Mexico: "I was very disappointed to hear the news about the fight being postponed."

No date has been agreed for a reschedule of the fight.
