Saul Alvarez v Shane Mosley Betting – Alvarez to down Sugar Shane

WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez takes-on former three-division world champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley in Las Vegas on May 5.

The question has to be asked does “Sugar” have one more big fight left in him, or will the powerful Alvarez end his fantastic career?

Mexican warrior “Canelo” Alvarez (39-0-1, 29 KO’s) is the massive 1.111 favourite at Pinnacle Sports to beat Mosley.

The undefeated twenty-one-year-old has made a lot of recent noise in the division with dominating victories over the likes of Kermit Cintron, Alfonso Gomez, Ryan Rhodes, and Matthew Hatton.

Despite still being very young, the Mexican has already fought in 40 bouts, winning all-but one. Alvarez has never lost a fight, with the draw against Jorge Juarez in 2006 his only blight.

Alvarez is an exciting prospect with heavy hands and good boxing skills. The Mexican has an abundance of power, work rate and boxing technique. His defence is effective, and he is renowned as a solid counter-puncher.

Many pundits believe Alvarez has been protected so far in his career, and no doubt this will be his biggest challenge inside a ring.

Mosley (46-7-1, 39 KO’s) is the big 7.010 underdog after going three-years without a win.

Mosley is the former lightweight, welterweight, and light middleweight champion, but has not seen a victory since 2009 against Antonio Margarito.

Since that win, Mosley has lost against both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. The 40-year-old veteran has fought in 55 bouts, winning 46. He has lost just seven bouts and has never been knocked-out.

Mosley in his hay-day was a terrific talented and skilled boxer, however he is not the same now, and question marks will hang over whether or not Mosley’s legs will last the full twelve rounds in a high tempo fight.
