Ricky Hatton Knock-out proving popular

Ian Noble - 21 Nov 2008

Whilst worries remain over the boxer's future, patriotic punters are still backing Ricky Hatton to knock out Paul Malignaggi in Las Vegas this weekend.

Ladbrokes have yet to see the large sums of money they would expect on a Hatton fight and neither fighter has been well-backed in the outright prices.

But they have been forced to cut the odds on the popular Mancunian doing the job in the 12 rounds from 7/2 to 3/1.

Spokesman Robin Hutchison: "We are not being knocked over by Hatton fans but the general consensus seems to be that he can do that to Malignaggi.

"Whilst Malignaggi has attracted some money on points, nobody thinks his brittle hands will trouble Hatton too much in terms of a KO or TKO."

Ladbrokes are 1/3 that the fight lasts for the full 12 rounds and 4/6 that neither fighter suffers a KO or TKO.

Hatton is 7/2 to win his bout following a win his beloved Man City against Arsenal

And patriots can have  8/1 that he wins and England beat South Africa in the rugby and India in the fourth one day international.
