Déjà Vu? Olusegun 1/2 To Beat Wright On Points

Tomorrow evening sees County Durham’s Nigel Wright taking on London-based Nigerian Ajose Olusegun for the vacant British light-welter title, live on Sky Sports 1 from 9:30pm. Originally, Olusegun was supposed to challenge Scotland’s Barry Morrison but the fighter had to pull out due to injury so Wright took the fight at just ten days notice.

The two southpaws met 16 months ago when Ajose Olusegun came out on top on a points decision after Wright dominated the earlier parts of the fight. It’s 1/2 at Skybet for Olusegun again to beat Wright on points and 7/2 that Wright reverses the result and takes the title. There is no doubting Olusegun’s talent, he is an Olympic representative, has won 26 consecutive bouts and holds the Commonwealth championship. It’s 80/1 for the Nigerian to win in the first sixty seconds of the fight and 16/1 that he sends Wright to the canvas.

Wright, who dominated Olusegun during the opening rounds of their previous fight, is 13/2 to send the Nigerian to the canvas and 200/1 to win in the opening sixty seconds of the fight.

Sky Bet’s Tim Reynolds told Bettingpro “The betting odds would seem to suggest an easy win for Olusegun but judging by the manner in which Wright dominated early on during their previous fight, an upset could be on the cards.”
