Joshua Clottey believes he is capable of ending Manny Pacquiao’s (1/6 to beat Clottey at Betfred) winning  streak ahead of the two stepping in the ring on March 13.

The Ghanaian is somewhat of a stand in for Pacquiao after his scheduled super-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jnr (1/3 to beat Shane Mosley in the bout betting) fell through after an argument over drug testing.

Clottey will now step in to face the Phillipines fighter at the Cowboys Stadium sporting a record of 35-3 with 20 of his victories coming via knockout.

However, the 32-year-old lost his last fight in June, albeit in controversial circumstance, to Miguel Angel Cotto, the man who Pacquaio handed a beating to four months later

Despite that defeat Clottey (8/1 to beat Pacquiao on points) is confident he can beat the P4P King when the two square off in under two weeks.

“I wasn’t really thinking about this fight at all,” said Clottey.

“But I know I can fight anybody and I know I can beat any boxer.”

Clottey believes the reason why so many boxers have failed to beat Pacquiao is because they haven’t had a good defence and claims despite his size advantage it will be his ability to avoid the punches that will win him the fight.
