Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KO’s) makes his long awaited return to the ring after a 16-month hiatus, and the five-division world champion will be in excellent shape as he takes on Ortiz, 10 years his junior. Mayweather will look to put on a show ahead of a potential super fight with either Manny Pacquiao or Amir Khan sometime next year. His opponent and defending WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) will seek to defend his title in the biggest fight of his career. Ortiz possesses solid punching power and will look to unleash his fierce left hook, in an attempt to drag Mayweather into a toe-to-toe war. Ortiz will hope he can take advantage of Mayweather’s ring rust and his weight advantage to slow his opponent down. However, Mayweather holds a massive advantage over his 24-year-old opponent with his slick boxing style, which is based on his exceptionally fast hands and feet. It is likely this fight will go the distance as Mayweather hasn’t kissed the canvas in a decade, while Ortiz has only suffered one TKO loss against the big-punching Marcos Maidana in 2009.
