- 19 Feb 2009

The light heavyweight Prizefighter gets underway tomorrow evening at the York Hall, Bethnal Green and Sky Bet make the former Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Courtney Fry the 13/8 favourite. The former Repton amateur is 10/11 to win his group and is 1/6 to win his opening bout against Shon Davies (7/2).

Tony Oakey, who has previously held the British, WBU and Commonwealth titles is 5/1 to take the £25,000 winners cheque and is 5/6 to win his opening fight against the undefeated Billy Boyle (5/6). In the battle of the two undefeated fighters, Bob Ajisafe is 11/10 to overcome Carl Dilks (4/6) and it’s 8/13 for the former British Champion Steve Spartacus to beat Darren Stubbs (6/5).

Amongst the many specials on offer it’s 11/4 for the final to be won inside the distance (2/9 points), 4/1 that all seven fights go the distance and it’s 10/11 for any one of the quarter finals to be finish by a knockout.

Sky Bet’s Tim Reynolds said, “With three undefeated boxers and some experienced campaigners taking part, tomorrow’s Prizefighter promises to be one of the best so far.”
