And, despite the Welshman’s unblemished record, the Harrow-based firm report sustained backing for the American.

Calzaghe is 1/3 for victory, whilst Jones Jr is a 9/4 chance.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “We’ve not seen this kind of support for an opponent of Calzaghe in a long time. The likes of Kessler, Lacy and Hopkins had their backers but not on the same scale as Jones Jr.”

The former undisputed super middleweight champion is 4/5 to win on points.
