Tiger to roar back to major winning style, Norman to storm the seniors, McIlroy to make no bones and more

All odds from Betfair

Tiger Woods - To Win (3.7)

This selection obviously doesn't need much explaining. Tiger Woods was beaten by the draw at the US Open. Winning his own tournament the AT&T National for the first time was good preperation for this third major of the year. He's the best golfer on the planet but he's majorless this year. I've a feeling that's about to change.

Greg Norman - Top Senior (3.75)

Few can expect Norman to come as close to winning as last year but in my view he rates a great bet to be top senior at this year's Open. He's a past winner of the Open on this very course. He's played more golf this year than in recent years and his closest competitors have question marks about them. Tom Watson is a magnificent links player but age seems to be catching up with him and Tom Lehman was beaten by 19 shots when Norman won this in 1993. Norman should have too much for his rivals.

Rory McIlroy - Top five finish (7.6)

Make no bones about it, this is McIlroys cup final. This is the time that McIlroy stops being the most promising golfer in Europe and puts in a performance that firmly marks him down as one of the best players in the World. He's been chomping at the bit for this tournament to begin and I'll be stunned if he doesn't trouble the top of the leaderboard.

Bubba Watson - Top debutant (16.0)

Turnberry is playing long and they don't come much longer than Bubba Watson. The huge hitter can take heart from fellow long hitting American John Daly's open triumph and win himself some British fans along the way.

Sergio Garcia - winner w/o Woods (22.0)

Word has it Sergio is well prepared for this years Open. He's played the course a number of times in preperation and with the rough grown to brutal lengths his straight driving will be a massive advantage. He's well overdue a major win and can run Tiger close.

David Duval
- Top US w/o Woods (40.0)

Another past Open winner, Duval is coming back to some sort of form. Although his 2nd place finish at the US Open was followed by a dreadful first round at the John Deere Classic, he played fantastically during his 2nd round and the missed cut may have been a blessing in disguise with the Open looming.
