The North Africans led only by four points after the first period but outscored their opponents 24-13 in the second quarter to break the game apart. The Tunisians continued their hot streak in the third and fourth quarters to set up a quarterfinal date with Morocco. Lassaad Chouya was the best performer for Tunisia with 16 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Big man Macram Romdhane had another impressive performance, finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Pretoria Heat guard Shane Marhanele led the South Africans with 15 points.Morocco, meanwhile, blasted Mali 80-59 in the nightcap. Abderrahim Najah powered his way to 15 points and 10 rebounds. Abdelhakim Zouita also had 15 points while Sophain Rafai added 14 points. University of Hawaii guard Waly Coulibaly led the Malians with 20 points.Former champion Senegal, meanwhile, walloped host Madagascar 92-75. The Senegalese capitalized on their size advantage, building a 26-13 first-quarter lead which they extended to a 20-point cushion heading into the final period. French League mainstay Mouhammad Faye led the way with 19 points and five rebounds while center Papa Ndiaga Diasse had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Spain-based Charles Ramsdell and France-based Yerison Rabekoto paced Madagascar with 19 points apiece. Up next for Senegal is Côte d'Ivoire, which survived Rwanda 80-72 earlier in the day. The Ivorians found themselves down by 11 points at halftime but Guy Edi led a second-half surge as his team avoided the upset axe. The Gonzaga University stalwart finished with a tournament-high 34 points. Mouloukou Diabate added 16 points while big man Mohamed Kone had 15 points and seven rebounds.
