Panathinaikos (2-1) will make it to the Top 16 if they win and Unics downs EA7 Emporio Armani Milano. Obviously, FB Ulker (1-2) are in a tight spot and may need to win in Athens to stay alive. Panathinaikos have won all of their five home games against FB Ulker –- the first four as Ulker Genclik. Panathinaikos ranks high in scoring (79.3 ppg.) and two-point percentage (57%) in this year's Top 16. FB Ulker only trails Armani in scoring (64 ppg.). Last week, Panathinaikos beat FB Ulker 56-77 behind 19 points from Kostas Kaimakoglou. Panathinaikos power forward Steven Smith got injured in last week's game and may be out for two weeks due to a leg problem. FB Ulker are expected to be without small forward Marko Tomas, who did not play last week. With Smith sidelined, Kaimakoglou will probably see more playing time at power forward to make the most out of his size and versatility. Kostas Tsartsaris will need to step up to give coach Zeljko Obradovic a post presence along with mid-range shots. Kaimakoglou and Tsartsaris will have the tough mission of guarding athletic power forward James Gist, one of the key match-ups in this game. Mirsad Turkcan, the competition's all-time top re-bounder, has the chance to showcase his skills when his team needs them most. As usual, Mike Batiste and Ian Vougioukas will split playing time at centre. Batiste must use his jump hooks, pick-and-roll skills and mid-range shots against Kaya Peker and Gasper Vidmar. Meanwhile, Vougioukas will be ready to use his size and power against solid big man Oguz Savas. FB Ulker needs its most experienced players – Turkcan, Ukic and Peker – to step up if their team wants to pull off the upset.
