The Georgetown Hoyas remain undefeated in men's NCAA basketball play at 8-0. 

The major knock against them about a week ago was that they had not defeated a team that could have been considered to be all that strong.  However in the past week the Hoyas defeated both Butler and Washington and in doing so Georgetown picked up a couple of credible wins.

Also, Georgetown does have a victory over the Temple Owls out of the Atlantic 10. 

Although Temple was not a ranked team at the time (the game took place on November 17th), with the Owls defeating Villanova to go 8-2, Temple looks like they are on the up and up in college basketball.

Here are the odds for the Georgetown Hoyas in the futures market for the NCAA basketball national championship:

+2500 (25/1), Players Only

Georgetown's odds are probably going to shorten in the next few weeks as they have Old Dominion (+20000 to win the National Championship; all odds Players Only), Harvard (+5000 as part of the field), and St. John's (+20000) upcoming.  Following that the Hoyas will play Depaul (+5000 as part of the field) and Marquette (+10000) before they have a major Big East opponent in the Connecticut Huskies.

In short, barring a hiccup, Georgetown looks like they could go 13-0 and if that takes place then odds of +2500 should be history.  If you are thinking of betting the Hoyas, now is the time but keep the betting to a minimal sprinkle. 

Although the Hoyas have wins over Butler, Washington, and Temple, they still haven't beaten a national championship calibre team - they've just shown that they are well above the middle of the pack. 

It's still not clear if these Hoyas will beat UCONN, Syracuse, and Villanova when Big East play comes around so the value on Georgetown, even at +2500, probably isn't all that significant.
