Duke Blue Devils v Boston College Eagles tips Visit Bodog Save For Later Posted by Bettingpro Staff 6 Feb 2010 Tweet Related Articles See all NCAA news Share it Pin It All the games are important in the tight ACC right now. The Duke Blue Devils are the top team in the Atlantic Coast Conference at 6-2 while the Boston College Eagles are down toward the bottom of the pack at 3-5 (both records conference play only). These two teams will be going head to head on Saturday from Chestnut Hill and the Blue Devils have a challenging spread to cover as the road team. PlayerOnly have the Blue Devils as -8.5 favorites on the road against Boston College, a spread that might present a challenge to Duke. The majority of Duke's games this year have either been played at home or at a neutral site and that is where they have gotten most of their wins. But the Blue Devils have lost, straight up, 3 of their last 4 road games and they are not that impressive away from Cameron Indoor Stadium. In early December Duke lost at Wisconsin despite being favored. A few weeks ago Duke lost to Georgia Tech despite being favored. A couple of weeks ago Duke got worked badly by NC State on the road and then on January 30th Duke lost by double digits to Georgetown at Georgetown. While Duke are 18-4 overall on the year, those 4 losses have come in their 6 road games so this Blue Devil team is not made of road warriors in any way. Our recommendation is to pick Boston College to cover the spread at +8.5 and as a side note, do not pick Duke for post-season success. March Madness games are neutral site games but there can still be local favorites. If Duke get an unlucky draw and end up in a hostile part of the country, they could easily be targeted for an upset. These Blue Devils play their best basketball inside Cameron Indoor Stadium and they wouldn't have that luxury after Selection Sunday in March.
